Julien Le Mauff is Assistant Professor in Political Science at UCO Nantes. PhD in medieval studies (Sorbonne Université), he is research associate at the Ceraps (UMR 8026) and Laboratoire d’études sur les monothéismes (UMR 8584). He focuses on the history of political systems of thought, the formation of theories of sovereignty, symbolic representations of power, and forms of political resistence. He has published Généalogie de la raison d’État (Classiques Garnier, 2021), L’Empire de l’urgence (PUF, 2024) and Machiavel (Puf, 2025).
