Guido Alfani



Guido Alfani is a professor of economic history at Bocconi University in Milan, where he directs the Dondena Center for the Study of Social Dynamics. He is also an affiliate researcher at the Stone Center on Socio-Economic Inequality in New York and the Stone Center on Wealth Inequality and Mobility in Chicago. His research focuses on the historical study of the demographic, economic, and social consequences of epidemics and famines, economic inequality, and social mobility. He recently published Come dèi fra gli uomini. Una storia dei ricchi in Occidente (Laterza, 2024).
