Kerry H. Whiteside has been a professor of political science at an American university (Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, Pennsylvania) since 1983; he has held the Clair R. McCollough Professor of Government chair since 2002. He specializes in modern political philosophy and European politics. His research focuses on environmental philosophy, the precautionary principle, the concept of representation and the environment, and environmental policy in France. His writings have appeared in Environmental Ethics, Environmental Politics, Polity, French Politics, Culture and Society, and other American and French journals.
He has published three books:
