Vincent Vilmain



Vincent VILMAIN is Senior Lecturer at the University of Maine. His research at CERHIO (UMR 6258) focuses on several themes: the history of women in Zionism (Féministes et nationalistes? Les femmes juives dans le sionisme politique(1897-1921), Paris, Honoré Champion, coll. “Bibliothèque des études juives”, 2016 [forthcoming]), the question of minorities (co-editor of the books L’Histoire des minorités est-elle une histoire marginale? (Paris, PUPS, 2008) and Religions et Frontières (Paris, CNRS Éditions, 2012) and the history of racial thought (co-editor of the Dictionnaire des racismes, de l’exclusion et des discriminations (Paris, Larousse, 2010). He is now interested in the relationship between religions and the question of race, a subject around which he organized the international colloquium “Les religions face aux théories et aux politiques de la race”. He is also a research associate at IPRA (Institut du pluralisme religieux et de l’athéisme) and GSRL (Groupe Sociétés Religions Laïcités - UMR 8582 EPHE/CNRS).
