Béatrice Touchelay has been Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Lille since 2011, and is attached to IRHiS UMR CNRS 8529. Her main research focuses on the production and use of public (statistics) and private (corporate accounting) figures in contemporary societies. Two of her publications concern tax fraud and the control of nationalized banks, and her current research focuses on the production of colonial and post-colonial statistics in the Belgian, British and French empires of the 19th and 20th centuries.
