Laurent Gayer is a research fellow at CNRS/CERI-Sciences Po. A specialist in the Indian subcontinent, he is particularly interested in urban dynamics and violent mobilizations in India and Pakistan. The result of a long investigation into armed conflicts and the “ordered disorder” specific to Pakistan’s only megacity, Karachi. Ordered Disorder and the Struggle for the City, was published by Hurst/Oxford University Press (London/New York) in 2014.
