Stéphane Gacon



Stéphane Gacon is a Modern History Lecturer at the University of Burgundy, and belongs to the Georges Chevrier Centre (UMR CNRS-uB 7366). He defended a thesis on Amnesty in France in the 19th and 20th Centuries and works on the social and political conflicts in France and in Europe. He published L’Amnistie. De la Commune à la guerre d’Algérie, Paris, Seuil, 2002 and joined in different collective works which focused on the Amnesty issue. The last to date being Etre dreyfusard hier et aujourd’hui, edited by Gilles Manceron and Emmanuel Naquet, PUR, 2009. He co-chaired a seminar on social food practices (2010-2014) which led to a conference on Eating at work (January 2014) and to a special issue of the review Le Mouvement social which he edited (n°247, April-June 2014). He is currently co-chairing a seminar on solidarities and cooperations within the Centre Chevrier.
