Jean-Pierre Dormois is agrégé of History, a Harvard graduate, professor at the Institut d’Études Politiques de Bordeaux. He taught at Cambridge, Montpellier, Tübingen, Iowa, Strasbourg, Purdue, Cardiff, Regensburg and at the Collège cévenol.
He wrote The French Economy in the Twentieth Century, The British Industrial Decline, Classical Trade Protectionism, L’économie française face à la concurrence britannique avant 1914 and La Défense du travail national (1870-1914).
