Sarah Vanuxem



After studying law and philosophy at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Sarah Vanuxem defended her thesis entitled “Des choses saisies par la propriété” (preface by T. Revet, Institut de Recherches Juridiques de la Sorbonne, 2012). She was a resident at the Académie de France in Rome (Villa Médicis) in 2022-2023, and she has served as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law of Université Côte d’Azur since 2012. Her research lies at the intersection of property law and environmental law, with forays into environmental philosophy, the anthropology of nature, and the history of law. She is the author of two essays: La propriété de la terre (Wildproject, 2018) and Des choses de la nature et de leurs droits (Quae, 2020). She is currently conducting research on the right to wander.
