Massoud Sharifi Dryaz is a sociologist and currently an associate professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and an associate member of CADIS-EHESS (Centre d’Analyse et d’Intervention Sociologiques). He completed his PhD studies in 2015 at EHESS (École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Paris), under the direction of Professor Michel Wieviorka. His research interests lie in political sociology, nationalism, social movements, activism, Kurdish question and Middle East. His doctoral dissertation entitled From Microscopic Resistance to Organized Collective Action focused on the emergence, evolutions and crises of the Kurdish movement.
