Jacques Revel is a directeur d’études at the School for Higher Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS) in Paris. He has worked on cultural practices in modern Europe and contemporary historiography, focusing especially on the intersection of history and the social sciences. He recently published, with Jean-Claude Passeron, Penser par cas (Paris, Éd. de l’EHESS, 2005) ; Un parcours critique (Paris, Galaade, 2006) ; Proposiçoes (Rio de Janeiro, UERJ, 2010).
