Christian Nadeau



Christian Nadeau has been a professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Montreal since June 2002, where he teaches ethics and political philosophy. He is also an associate researcher at the CREUM of the same university.

His work, both historical and analytical, focuses on the theories of political freedom, deliberative democracy and transitional justice in a post-war context. He has published in particular: Justice et démocratie. Une introduction à la philosophie politique, Presses de l’université de Montréal, 2007, and in collaboration with Julie Saada, Guerre juste, guerre injuste. Histoire, théories et critiques, Presses universitaires de France, 2009.

He is currently writing a book on transitional justice and continues to work in the field of just war theories. A second part of his research focuses on the mechanisms and legitimacy of democratic protest.
