Marion Fontaine has a doctorate in history from the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS), Paris, where she is a member of the research group in Historical Approaches to Contemporary Worlds (AHMOC). Her work is concerned with the history of sports events, and the social and political history of workers’ worlds. She is Secretary of the Society of Jaurésian Studies (Société d’études jaurésiennes), and co-organizer of the Network of Doctoral Students in Sports Studies (REDESP). Her book, Le Racing Club de Lens et les “Gueules Noires”: Essai d’histoire sociale, will soon be published by Les Indes Savantes.
