Ludmilla Lorrain



Ludmilla Lorrain holds a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, where she defended a thesis entitled Représentation politique et utilitarisme de Jeremy Bentham à John Stuart Mill". An associate researcher at the Centre for the History of Modern Philosophies at the Sorbonne (HIPHIMO EA 1451), her research focuses on the critical history of the association of the concepts of democracy, representation and sovereignty of the people in France and England. In particular, she directed, with Aurélie Knüfer, the special issue John Stuart Mill et la révolution de la Revue philosophique de France et de l’étranger and published in 2024 La Représentation contre la démocratie - De Thomas Hobbes à John Stuart Mill, coll. Les Anciens et les Modernes, Classiques Garnier.
