Stephanie Leder



Stephanie Leder is a post-doctoral fellow in Governance, Gender, and Poverty at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in Kathmandu, Nepal. She held a PhD scholarship in Geography Education from the Graduate School for Teaching Methodology at the University of Cologne, Germany. Her dissertation’s title is: “Pedagogic practice and the transformative potential of Education for Sustainable Development in Indian geography education: Argumentation on urban water conflicts in English-medium schools in Pune”.

In India, she has been affiliated to the Centre de Sciences Humaines (CSH) in Delhi and the Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Environment Education and Research (BVIEER) in Pune.

She is interested in geographical, educational and qualitative social research on schooling, water, health care, and gender in South Asia. Currently, she conducts gender research on capacity building and skill development for agricultural development within the CGIAR research program “Water, Land and Ecosystems” (WLE).
