Hélène Landemore, a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure and Sciences Po (Paris), holds a degree in political science from Harvard University. Her thesis (PhD 2008) focuses on the notion of collective intelligence as applied to the justification of democracy. She has published a monograph in French on David Hume (Hume: Probabilité et Choix Raisonnable, Paris, PUF, 2004) and two articles in English (on rational choice theory and animal rights). She has been Jon Elster’s research assistant at the Collège de France since September 2007. She will be a post-doc at Brown University (Rhode Island) from September 2008.
