Séverin Guillard



Séverin Guillard is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of the West of Scotland. He carries out research on cultural practices and power relations in French, American and British cities. In 2016, he completed a PhD thesis on the geographies of rap music titled “Music, city and scenes: location and the production of authenticity in French and American rap music” (in French). He is also one of the organizers of the first international conference on hip-hop music set in France, and co-edited with Marie Sonnette a special issue on legitimacy and authenticity in hip-hop for the popular music journal Volume".
