Sylvie Guichard is a lecturer and researcher in the history of legal and political thought at the University of Geneva. Her research focuses on nationalism, and in particular Hindu nationalism, history and education (The Construction of History and Nationalism in India, Routledge 2010) as well as on the interactions between religion, law and politics and on religious freedom. She also participates in a research collective (Atelier Interdisciplinaire de Recherche AIR) which works on themes related to monuments, art in public spaces and the memorial issues they raise.
