Volny Fages is an assistant professor at the ENS Paris-Saclay. He teaches history and sociology of science. His research focuses on scientific margins, scientific amateurism, and peri- or extra-institutional ways of producing and sharing knowledge and know-hows.
He is the author of Savantes nébuleuses. L’origine du monde entre marginalité et autorité scientifique (1860-1920) (Editions de l’EHESS, 2018)
