Kamel Doraï is a research fellow at the CNRS at the French Institute of the Middle East (Amman, - Jordan). He coordinates the Lajeh research program funded by the ANR. His main research themes focus on reflection on the question of asylum and refugees in the Middle East, geopolitical recompositions and new migratory dynamics in the Middle East as well as on migration and transnational practices within the diaspora. Palestinian. He is currently conducting research on the forms of settlement of Syrian refugees in Jordan as well as on the process of urbanization of Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. The comparative study of refugees in camps and outside camps as well as the analysis of their journeys and their spatial practices are developed to account for the socio-spatial dynamics developed by refugees and to understand the camp/city connections.
