Ludovic Desmedt is a Professor of Economics at the Université de Bourgogne - Franche-Comté. His research focuses on the history and theory of banking institutions. He has published several articles or book chapters on the evolution of monetary and financial structures, particularly in the Anglo-American world. He has co-directed Les pensées monétaires dans l’histoire, l’Europe 1517-1776 (Classiques Garnier, Paris, 2014) with Jérôme Blanc, as well as the anthology Théories françaises de la monnaie (PUF, 2016, with P. Alary, J. Blanc and B. Théret).
Ludovic Desmedt is also a member of the editorial board of the Revue d’Histoire de la pensée économique. At the Université de Bourgogne, he is in charge of a Master specialty and member of the Laboratoire d’Économie de Dijon (LEDi).
