Florent Coste is a doctor from the University of Bourgogne and a member of the French School of Rome. His current research focuses on the circulation of French literature (in langue d’oïl) in medieval Italy (between Genoa and Pisa, at the end of the 13th century), at the crossroads of Romance philology, sociolinguistics and a social history of Italian chivalry. His essay, Explore. Literary Investigations (Theoretical Questions) attempts to lay the foundations for a pragmatic and pragmatist theory of literature.
