Angèle Christin

[fr] Angèle Christin est actuellement post-doctorante en sociologie à la Fondation Maison des sciences de l’homme, au Data & Society Research Institute et à la New School for Social Research. Ses travaux portent sur les effets des technologies de quantification sur les pratiques professionnelles et les catégories d’entendement des groupes professionnels. Sa thèse examine le cas des journalistes web et leur rapport aux mesures de lectorats (web analytics) en France et aux États-Unis. Avant de commencer sa thèse, Angèle a travaillé sur le domaine judiciaire, ce qui donné lieu à la publication en 2008 d’un ouvrage à La Découverte, Comparutions immédiates: Enquête sur une pratique judiciaire. En collaboration avec Étienne Ollion, elle a également publié un Repères à La Découverte intitulé La sociologie aux États-Unis aujourd’hui.
[en] Angèle Christin is currently a post-doctoral researcher in sociology at the Fondation Maison des sciences de l’homme, at the Data & Society Research Institute and at the New School for Social Research. Her work focuses on the effects of quantification technologies on professional practices and categories of understanding of professional groups. Her thesis examines the case of web journalists and their relationship to readership measurements (web analytics) in France and the United States. Before starting her thesis, Angèle worked in the legal field, which gave rise to the publication in 2008 of a work in La Découverte, Comparutions immédiates : Enquête sur une pratique judiciaire. In collaboration with Étienne Ollion, she also published a Repères à La Découverte entitled La sociologie aux États-Unis aujourd’hui .
