Marc-Olivier Déplaude

Sociologist and researcher at the IRISSO (Université Paris-Dauphine, PSL Research University, CNRS, INRA), Marc-Olivier Déplaude first worked on health policies and the medical profession. He is currently conducting research about big food processors, the criticisms and mobilizations they arouse, and the way they respond to them. He recently published La hantise du nombre. Une histoire des numerus clausus de médecine [The Fear of numbers: A history of medical numerus clausus in France] (Paris, Les Belles Lettres, 2015), and “Minimising dietary risk : The French association of salt producers and the manufacturing of ignorance”, (Health, Risk & Society, 2015, vol. 17, n° 2).
